Hello curvies!

First of all, a big thank you for showing so much love on my previous summer semi formal ethnic look. You guys have been so kind in showering your love on me and The Curvy Princess, and I cannot be thankful enough. So now that I know how much you guys love seeing my summer outfit posts, I am here with yet another spring summer look. But this time I have made sure to give you guys something you wanted to see. Shirts, especially formal shirts, as fancy as they look can get a little overwhelming when it comes to curvy figures. I have tried to break down the basics of choosing the right shirts for plus size figures for the summers and tips and tricks on how to wear them with the utmost grace.

How to select the best shirt for you?

Shirts, especially ill-fit shirts generally tend to set atop your body and make you look really boxy. The first step to getting the perfect shirt for you so to try out lots and lots of them before settling for one that looks tailor made for your figure. A well-fitted shirt makes the body look really polished while adding to the overall sophistication. Make sure that you try on different sizes, only then will you know the right fit from the wrong one. Chose a shirt which enclasps all the buttons in place whether the shirt is tucked in or not. Ensure that the buttons at the bust and at the hip close snugly without looking wobbly and voila, you have found your perfect fit. For me, after a lot of trial and error, a size 3 aLL-The Plus Size Store shirt has made it to my list of favorite shirts.

Chose the right fabric for your body!

The summers are here and it is the best time to go for those flowy, breezy fabrics which not just adore your curves but make them look super flattering in their easy-go fits. Chose shirts made of soft fabrics like linen, cotton and georgette. Fabrics like these are not stealthily flowy, have a nice fit but at the same time sit very snugly on the body, taking their shape and making your curves look oh-so-scrumptious.

I chose two of these fabulous linen shirts from the latest Spring-Summer’17 collection from aLL-The Plus Size Store and none of these is sheer, has a good fit and still sits on my curves super snugly.

What colors should you opt for?

If you are still looking for answers to questions like this, then honestly, all my hard work in encouraging you girls to wear what you want has gone to waste. But nonetheless, I will again emphasize on the fact that you as an individual do not need to conform to any “Plus Size Fashion Rules” and accept the fact that you are free to wear whatever colour you wish to.

Here I have tried to break the conventions by wearing one of the most dreaded colors–white–and no I am not afraid of flaunting it. I believe that white is one of the most gorgeous colors out there and everyone should own at least one crisp white shirt which they can dress up or down as per their mood and occasion. Paired with a slim fitting black jeggings and a chunky neck piece, a white shirt is all set to take you off from a work date to a meeting.

Brands like aLL-The Plus Size Store also believe in the same theory that anyone can wear any color and has come up with a lot of bright as well as soft pastel colors in their latest shirt collection. From lemon yellow to baby blue, a bright rust-orange, white, off-white and even a subtle indigo blue, aLL has planned a color for every mood. I picked up a bright yet subtle rust-orange shirt which has paneled detailings on the bust which adds to the slimming silhouette the shirt creates.
