Biotique Botanicals Bio Berry Plumping Lip Balm Review

When seen in comparison to its more enchanting cousins, the lipstick and the lip gloss, our good old lip balms get no special attention – until dry lips start making you cringe. Nevertheless, a tube of lip balm is something that you are bound to stumble on at the bottom of just about any and every woman’s purse for excellent reasons: for all the intricate stuff we put on our lips, lip balm is one must have moisturising element that conditions and preps the pout for a smooth, even application of your favourite lip colour.

I have no shame in accepting that I am a lip balm hoarder, and I like to get my hands on a new tube at every possible chance. And this new year, I started off my lip balm journey with the the revamped Biotique Botanicals Bio Berry Plumping lip balm. This particular lip balm has been such a constant product from the house of biotique that it has seen three revamped packaging’s, however, it is my first time using this formula, and honestly, I am astonished by the quality of this miraculous product.

What does the brand have to say?

This plumping balm restores lip fullness for a voluptuous, bee-stung look and refined lip contours.

  • Restores lip fullness
  • Natural ingredients
  • 100 percent botanical extracts
  • Alcohol free, not tested on animals, natural ingredients, paraben free

Price and Quantity?

INR 149 for 5 grams of product

The price range is very cheap as per the average lip balm’s market prices, but I also noted that the tub packaging of the berry plumping lip balm has 12 grams of product and retails for 200 grams making it way cheaper.

Unlike its former and cheaper tub packaging, the new packaging comes in a basic white plastic tube packaging with a roll-up mechanism which dispenses out the balm stick. The roll up mechanism works just about fine and does not give any problem in rolling back in the tube like most cheap lip balms do. The tube is very sleek which makes it handy, but also i keep on losing it all the time. *haha*

The lip balm has a very buttery consistency which does not feel gloopy on the lips. I like super moisturising formulas and this one beats the benchmarks for me. Most thick lip balms feel really heavy on the lips in the initial few hours but not this one. It is super hydrating but not at one point does it feel thick on my lips and is one of the most comfortable formulas my lips have ever felt the comfort of.

Colour Pay Off

As the name suggests, the lip balm is a true berry tinted balm with just the tiniest hints of colour to it. I am  so tired of lip balms being overly pigmented and imitating lipsticks. I like subtle tints in my balm and this one is the perfect wear for daily purposes. It brightens up your face but does not impart a heavy does of colour. It somehow makes my lips look naturally pink-ier which is beautiful.

Does it hold true to its plumping claims?

Sadly, No. I never felt any sort of bee-stung look on my lip contours, however, this lip balm very efficiently smoothens out my lips and also fills in any lip lines. I love to think of it as a cheap dupe for more expensive lip primers. it works wonderfully well beneath any sort of lipstick and makes the lipstick application flawless.

  • Super affordable
  • Convenient, hygienic packaging
  • Highly moisturising
  • Imparts a very pretty berry tint to the lips
  • Easily available
  • No parabens
  • Smooths out the lip lines
  • Works well under any and all lip products
  • Can be used as a lip primer
  • Keeps the lips moisturised for good 3 hours
  • Does not feel heavy on the lips

  • Does  not hold true to its lip plumping claims
  • Not for those who want a heavy pigmented lip balm

Does The Curvy Princess Recommend?

Totally. I feel it is way better than the conventional lip balms in the market and is way cheaper given the huge quantity we get.

The Curvy Rating : 4.9/5
