Hola my angels!
How has everyone been? Before jumping straight to the review, I would first like to take a moment and just thank all you lovely people who have been taking out their precious time and showering my write ups with all the love they can. My love for makeup has been constant since quite a few years now, but starting this blog has given me a great dose of insight so as to what interests me the most, and what does not. So, thank you for just being there!

So without further ado, let’s just jump right into the detailed review! First things first, this is my second tub of the Maybelline gel eyeliner goodness, so you can just tell how much I love it! And honestly, whats not to love about this little jar of affordable deep black gel pigment? It retails for way less than the other gel eyeliners in the Indian cosmetics market and it is super black! Packaging

Gel eyeliners could not be any more cuter and with the whole mini glass looking jar packaging and mini brush, Maybelline gel eyeliner pots look super cute. And no, things are not just superficially cute, they are sturdy as well. The glass looking see through jar is actually very high quality with all the details on the bottom and a screw top lid which holds the jar close very securely and does not tend to open without attempting to do so. Plus it comes with a very practical and convenient to use eyeliner brush with super soft and tightly packed bristles which do the job of eyeliner application perfectly and is pretty easy to manoeuvre.

Texture and Application

The gel eyeliner looks and feels rather creamy more than a gel formulation and trust me, I would not have it any other way. The texture is buttery smooth, it is not at all gloopy and it goes on super smooth. No tugging or pulling at all. The brush picks up just enough product in one dip and is enough to do one eye. So clearly, you do not tend to use much product and it will easily last you for 2-3 years. Just make sure you clean your brush regularly as it tends to stiffen up if it collects a lot of product.

Pigmentation

So this one is the most blackest of the black eyeliners you can find in the Indian market today. Mostly all gel eyeliners come with a punch of pigments packed into them and this one is no less. And the best part is that the pigment does not wear off with the years and it stays intact even 3 years after you have started using it.

Staying power

I’ll make my point clear here, I have super oily skin and no eyeliner stays put on these watery eyes. And I would not say that this eyeliner stayed intact on my eyes for the whole day but as an eyeliner it did stay put for a good 6 hours after which it started leaving impressions on my lid. But on the waterline it hardly survive 4 hours before it started to smudge and come off from the outer corner. But again, I am one oily soul so if your skin is in better condition, this baby will work wonders for you!

Final Thoughts

The Maybelline gel eyeliner is affordable for a gel eyeliner tag, comes with a pretty convenient applicator and is pretty smooth to apply, has bang on pigmentation and stays on for a long time. What’s not to love?

Do I recommend?

Hell, yes!
