The Curvy Valentine Look 2017 With Calae

Hello curvies.

It is Valentine’s week, the week of love. And with 14th February around the corner, I just thought I should create a very feminine, romantic yet a very flattering valentines day date look which is super easy to recreate. Valentine looks are all about soft, feminine looks which are not just super girly and pretty but also give a very casual look while still adding the oomph to your persona. And as I always say, with brands like CALAE, who really understand the requirements of the curvy women, it is not difficult to get the look you have always dreamt of.

I personally have always associated Valentines with soft, casual, romantic fit and flare dresses which are the perfect options for any curvy body. And when it came to creating a day brunch look for valentines, I had to include my perfect LBD and my favorite Candice Akola Jacket from Calae. For those who know me, know what a sucker I am for clean monochrome looks. I just find monochrome looks to be very crisp and flattering for plus size figures. With just the right placement of colors, one can really attract attention to the areas they want to while camouflaging the problem areas of the body.

So for this particular look, I decided to pair my favorite little black sleeveless skater dress with my latest wardrobe addition from Calae, the really gorgeous white jacket which is made from very high-quality thick thread. The thing which attracts me the most about this stunning piece of clothing is that not only is it  made from a thick fabric making it look so much better than the flimsy jackets that the markets are flooded with these days, but also the length of this jacket is such that on my 5’9” figurine, it looks super attractive as a cropped jacket. It gets really difficult for me to find a flattering jacket length, but Calae does it so well. With the peek-a-boo framework of the jacket, the play of black and white works really well when paired with a black dress like I did.

Black skater dresses are a saviour for curvy figures. They cinch at the waist and flare at the heaviest part of our bodies making our silhouette look at their prettiest best. To further add in to the cinched waist effect, I prefer adding in a sleek belt, white in this case in accordance to my jacket, and add on that oomph to the outfit. Also, given that my skater dress is a sleeveless one, the jacket acts as a gift from heaven to my thick arms. Not just does it act as a cover up to combat the February nip, but also make the arms look at its slender best. So, a jacket which looks attractive and makes your body shape look so much better? What more could I have asked for from a clothing piece?IMG_7280IMG_7262

Also, if we look at it closely, the neckline of the jacket is such that it creates a pretty keyhole at the chest which adds such a cute detailing without having to accessorise it much. To take up my outfit a notch, I simply added a cute white clutch, my favorite (though not very comfortable) black stilettos from Stush (located in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi), a cute pair of studs and a bright red smile. I just feel that the red lip and the monochrome dress go really well with each other and make just the perfect valentine outfit which is super romantic and has the most flattering silhouettes for the plus size figures.
