The Semi-Formal Ethnic Look Ft aLL – The Plus Size Store Spring Summer’17 Collection

Hello, Curvies!

How is everyone doing? For all those connected with me on social media or following me on facebook, instagram or snapchat; you know how haywire things have been lately with the Miss Plus Size North India Auditions happening and my last semester of my master’s degree–I have hardly had any time to post stuff on here. But with the summers blooming in its full glory, and almost all leading plus size fashion brands having launched their Spring Summer collection, it is time to get back to action. And to start it off all, here I am, showcasing some of the latest outfits from my all time favorite brand, aLL–A little larger, and show you how you can dress up an outfit as simple as a Kurta and Pallazo while looking effortlessly polished.

The moment one hears spring summer collection, it is lacey shorts and flowy maxi dresses which float our senses galore; but for the curvy sect of the society, skin show at times is not an option. But with the temperature rising ever so steadily, full coverage jeans does not sound like much of an appealing idea either. As much as i love my flowy maxi dresses and skinny jeans–there are times when neither of the two cut it for me and all I need is something well fitted yet breezy. And the aLL Spring Summer’17 collection does just that for me. With a vast selection of Kurtis and breezy, colorful palazzo pants being launched, each of our curves has so much potential to be flaunted–and flaunted well.

For the very first outfit, I chose a black long slit kurta with a colorful side panel which has a very pretty boho feel abstract pattern at the hemline which looks not just pretty but resonates with the spring summer feels despite having a black base. The material of the kurta is the most comfortable your body can embrace in these sultry days and it does not crease much even when you sweat. And honestly, fabric is the thing which wins me over in a kurta–more than any design color or shape can ever do. Coming to the pallazo, not just are they super comfortable for thunder thighs, they are loose enough for even the biggest of legs and long enough for the tallest of us. Also, the cut out details on the ankles take the entire outfit up a notch and add to the summery vibes.

I paired my outfit with a simple pair of black pencil stiletto heels to add that much-needed oomph to those cutout palazzos. For my makeup I added just a thick eyeliner with a bright orange toned red lip to go with the colours on the kurta and wore some chunky jhumkas to complete the outfit.

For the second outfit, I chose an A-line black and white kurta with a red piping and paired it with some palazzo pants of a similar shade. White and black is a classic combination–but when red adds a pop of color–the outfit is not just summery and fun but also very chic while being super polished. Black, white and red are all really sophisticated basic colors and when paired together they don’t just look great but make a really pretty color palate. The red piping on the white kurta with black symmetrical prints and that red hemline border is adding to the semi-formal appeal of the kurta and when paired with a similarly toned palazzo it makes the outfit formal yet keeps intact the ethnic vibe.

So these were my top picks from the aLL Spring Summer’17 ethnic collection and I love how flattering they look. The fittings are real nice with their collection, and for deets, I am a size 1 in the kurta selections and size 3 in the palazzo pants. There are so many colors and patterns available in the latest collection and I am sure you are bound to find something flattering from the collection which will not just appease the eyes but flatter your curves oh so effortlessly. Also, the collection has some really affordable peices; the kurtas starting at 1200 INR and the palazzos retailing at 1300 INR each. How much more can we expect a brand to care for us?

Are you planning to embrace the aLL Spring Summer’17 collection. If yes, let me know your picks from the collection and how do you plan to style it?
